Policies

1. General Practice Policies

  • Cash-Pay Only: All services are cash-pay. We do not bill insurance. Payment is collected at the time of service.
  • Adult Patients Only: BloomPsych provides care exclusively to patients aged 18 and older.
  • MD-Only Care: All clinical services are provided by licensed psychiatrists (MD).

2. Tele-Psychiatry Policies

  • Service Areas: Tele-psychiatry is offered in New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ), and California (CA) only.
  • Platform: Sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant video platforms. The patient must ensure a private, safe, and secure environment.
  • Technology Requirements: Reliable internet, webcam, and microphone are required. BloomPsych is not responsible for technical interruptions.

3. Appointment Policies

  • Scheduling: Appointments are booked online via our secure system.
  • Cancellation & Rescheduling:
    • Must be done at least 24 hours in advance.
    • Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a full session fee.
  • Punctuality: Sessions start promptly. Late arrivals may reduce session time; full fees still apply.

4. Privacy & Confidentiality

  • HIPAA Compliance: Your personal and health information is protected under HIPAA.
  • Confidential Communication: Emails and messages are secure, but we recommend sensitive information be shared during video sessions.
  • Record Keeping: Medical records are maintained securely. Patients may request copies per HIPAA regulations.

5. Medications & Prescriptions

  • Prescribing: All prescriptions are at the discretion of your treating psychiatrist.
  • Controlled Substances: Prescriptions for controlled substances follow federal and state telemedicine regulations.
  • Pharmacy: Patients must provide a preferred pharmacy for electronic prescriptions.

6. Emergencies

  • BloomPsych is not an emergency service.
  • In the event of emergency or crisis, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
  • For urgent mental health support, you may contact:

    • Local emergency services in your state

7. Patient Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and complete medical history.
  • Attend sessions on time and actively participate.
  • Ensure a private, quiet, and safe environment during tele-psychiatry sessions.
  • Notify the practice of any changes in contact information, medications, or health status.

8. Consent

By using BloomPsych services, patients consent to tele-psychiatry care and acknowledge understanding of the policies outlined above. Consent includes the use of secure video platforms and electronic communications.
